Welcome to PCRdrive – the interactive platform from and for PCR users. PCRdrive provides features enabling you to efficiently plan, organise and manage all your PCR related lab routines. Furthermore it connects you to other scientists and experienced global players in the industry (“Partners”) for getting all the information you need for your daily work. PCRdrive is operated by OakLabs GmbH, Germany. We at OakLabs are committed to respecting your privacy. By registering as a member of PCRdrive (“Member”) and accessing or using the features of PCRdrive (“Services”), you ("User") signify that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by (1) the Terms of Use ("Terms") and (2) this PCRdrive Privacy Policy.

What Does this Privacy Policy Cover?

This document covers how PCRdrive collects and uses information when you become a PCRdrive Member and use the Services offered through pcrdrive.com including all related pages (“Site”). Furthermore it explains the safeguards we use to protect that information. If you do not accept either the Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy, you should not access the Site and/or become a PCRdrive Member.

What Information about Users and Members Does PCRdrive Collect

Our primary goal is to provide you with a friendly, customized, and efficient experience and more important enable you to take full advantage of our Services. Therefore PCRdrive collect the following types of information:

Information that you enter while registering as a PCRdrive Member. When registerring, your full name and e-mail address are an obligatory input. Further personal information may be provided by you, e.g. picture, e-mail address, institutional affiliation and further contact details as mailing address.

Information that you enter while using the Services. To take full advantage of our Services PCRdrive collects professional data as well. "Professional Data" includes information about your research, including, but not limited to, certain details of your current projects, ongoing experiments, study species and methods. By accessing the Site and using the Services, you are accepting and agreeing this Statement and the Terms of Use.

Information about how you use the Site. When you visit the Site, we collect basic information such as your IP address to track and aggregate non-personal information. Also, we receive and store information about your usage of our Site including what features you access and the frequency of yours accessing them. Knowing this information allows us to improve the site and make it better fit the needs of PCRdrive Members and Users.

Information from other sources. In order to enhance our ability to offer you customized Services and Site experience, we may obtain or merge your personal data with data obtained from other parties for the same purposes.

Cookies. When you visit our Site, we may use "cookies". A cookie is a small file placed on your device. We use the information collected by cookies to remember who you are to log you in and your preferences, to provide to you advertisements, offers or other content tailored to your research and to evaluate how our Site is used. Cookies allow us to personalize the Services for you. You can block cookies through your web browser if you do not want PCRdrive to use cookies.

How PCRdrive Uses Your Provided Information

We use the information we collect to provide our Services to you and deliver content tailored to your research focus.

Communication. PCRdrive uses your data to contact you regarding, e.g. creating and managing your account, informing your about changes to our Site and Services and special offers open to PCRdrive Members. You may opt-out of being contacted by us by sending a an email to privacy@pcrdrive.com or by unsubscribing through opt-out link in an email. Should you opt-out, PCRdrive reserves the right to send you notices regarding the status of your account.

If you elects to use our referral features for informing a colleague about our Site and Services, we will ask you for the colleague's name email address. You agree that you have the required consent to disclose your colleague's name and email address to us for this purpose. PCRdrive stores this information to send this invitation, to register a friend connection if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at privacy@pcrdrive.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Market Analysis. At times, PCRdrive will collect, retain, and use your personal data for market analysis. This data is used only in the aggregrate. We may also provide and distribute statistical information to our Partners about how often Members use our Site and our Services, so that they, too, may provide you with customized content. Back Up. PCRdrive may keep a backup copy of all data provided for a reasonable period of time to allow the Site and its Members to revert back to a prior version of that data.

Promotion. We will occasionally send you information on products, services, special offers or promotions of our Partners. You may sign up for these e-mails on our home page. Out of respect for your privacy an unsubscribe option will always be available in our e-mail communications as well as by emailing at privacy@pcrdrive.com Should you opt-out, PCRdrive reserves the right to send you notices regarding the status of your account.

Will PCRdrive Share any Information Received?

Information about our Members and Users are an essential part of PCRdrive. PCRdrive does not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal and professional data, other than as stated in this Privacy Policy and in the Terms of Use, unless you give us the written or electronically transmitted permission to do so.

Privacy Settings. PCRdrive Members can control the privacy settings applicable to their personal and professional data, and may modify those settings at any time. By default, your full name and affiliation is viewable by both PCRdrive Members and the general public.

It is your responsibility to apply appropriate privacy settings to the personal and professional data you submit through Site and Services. Privacy settings are available to restrict access to all your data provided.

You should understand that no security measures are perfect or inviolable, and while PCRdrive makes reasonable effort to preserve the integrity of the privacy structure at the Site and in the Services, you post your data at your own risk. PCRdrive is not responsible for circumvention of any of our privacy settings. PCRdrive cannot guarantee that the data you submit through the Site and Services will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. In the event of a security breach we will notify the affected Members and repair the breach in a reasonable amount of time.

Members and Users should report any unauthorized activity or unauthorized use of information to privacy@pcrdrive.com as soon as they become aware of such activity. Unauthorized use of personal and professional data violates this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

Agents and Service Providers. PCRdrive works with other companies to perform tasks on our behalf and in order to provide information technology services to its Members and Users. These companies may have access to PCRdrive's databases, but only for the purposes of providing service to PCRdrive. Examples may include engaging technical support, hosting our Site, processing payments and analyzing data. We provide these companies with the only personal information they need to perform the services we request and require that they will operate under consumer confidentiality agreements with OakLabs.

Change of Business. In the event of a change in business practices such as merger, acquisition by another company, consolidation, liquidation, or reOrganization, Member and User information may be transferred or sold by us. If OakLabs GmbH, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired or if there were proposal to acquire OakLabs GmbH or its assets, Member and User information would be one of the assets that are transferred as a part of the process of sales. Where this occurs, we would strive to require any acquiring entity to adhere to the policies set forth in this Privacy Policy. OakLabs GmbH reserves the right to terminate access to Members and Users at any time with or without cause.

Conditions of Use

Age Registration. Registration at our Site and use of or access of our Services are not intended for people under the age of eighteen (18). By registering with PCRdrive, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and that you agree to and will comply with all of the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

Registration at PCRdrive and usage of Services. When registering at our Site and using our Services you agree to the following:

  • All data you provide are accurate, truthful, complete and current
  • You will maintain the security of your password.
  • You will update the private and professional data you provide as it changes.
  • You are fully responsible for all use and content of your account.

Changes to Policies

OakLabs GmbH reserves the right to revise, update or amend this policy at any time. If we do so, we will notify you by posting in advance the revised notice on our Site or sending you an email. This Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use apply to the current PCRdrive version and to all subsequent versions.
